PhilipsPhilips PowerSensor LCD display : MMD, the leading technology company and brand license partner for Philips Monitors, announces a new 24-inch LCD display that works for the health of users as well as the planet. Packed with eco and user-friendly design features, the display includes an integrated PowerSensor to turn power off when no one is at the desk, and a special LowBlue mode to cut the amount of blue light exposure for the eyes. Combined with the color performance and wide viewing angles of IPS technology, as well as advanced connectivity with USB 3.0, this is a display to improve productivity in any modern office. The new Philips 240B7QPJEB and 240B7QPTEB LCD display, with an RRP of respectively €349,- and €359,-, will be available in major electronics stores now.

Keeping eyes fresh and healthy is key to better wellbeing at work. However, excessive exposure to the blue light of displays can potentially harm vision. The Low Blue mode in the new Philips 240B7QPJEB / 240B7QPTEB LCD display counters this impact. Developed to enhance wellbeing, Low Blue mode uses a smart software technology to reduce the shortwave blue light. Low Blue mode is complemented by Philips Flicker-free technology, a solution to regulate brightness and reduce flicker for more comfortable viewing. The display also features the Smart Ergo Base, which users can tilt, swivel and height-adjust to their personal preference for a more comfortable viewing experience. As a useful side benefit, the base also keeps cables neat and tidy.

Philips display with eco credentials
The new Philips Monitors display was developed with eco-friendly productivity in mind. It is made from 85% post-consumer recycled plastics with TCO Edge, minimizing the environmental impact of production. In operation, it saves energy highly effectively through the PowerSensor, an integrated “people sensor” that transmits and receives harmless infrared signals to determine if a user is present, and automatically reduces monitor brightness whenever the user moves away. This cuts the energy bill by up to 80% and prolongs the monitor life.

Eco credentials apart, the new display also delivers where it matters most: on brilliant viewing quality. Advanced IPS technology creates extra-wide viewing angles of 178/178 degrees for viewing from almost any angle - even nearly side-on. Users will appreciate the sharp images and vivid colors for business apps that demand consistent color accuracy and brightness. The ultra-narrow screen border reduces distraction and makes the display ideal for multi-screen or tiled setups. The display of course also delivers the same quality viewing to photos and movies. Responding to the need to connect efficiently to a whole range of data sources, the latest display is equipped with VGA, DisplayPort and universal HDMI. And for super-fast transfer, it also features Super Speed USB 3.0, enabling data to be sent at a blazing 5.0gbit per second (around 10 times the speed of USB 2.0). The USB interface is backward-compatible, so users can continue to source data from their USB 2.0 devices.
