PolaroidPolaroid iZone digital camera : Polaroid introduced the iZone, a Wi-Fi connected camera designed to be the ultimate companion to your IOS or Android smartphone with great image quality and built-in flash for easy, on-the-go, instant photography. Produced by Sakar International, an authorized Polaroid licensee, the Polaroid iZone camera is the perfect way to capture better quality pictures with a smartphone. Just pair with any IOS or Android device using the built-in Wi-Fi, then use the smartphone as a viewfinder to line up the perfect shot in real time. Once paired, users can save the images taken with the Polaroid Wi-Fi camera directly to the smartphone, bypassing the 32MB internal memory of the camera.

With its impressive 8X optical zoom, 18 megapixel resolution, built-in tripod mount and tiny form factor, the Polaroid iZone Wi-Fi camera is the perfect way to capture amazing new angles with better image quality and more zoom capability than most smartphone cameras on the market. The Polaroid iZone camera’s compact size, at just 2” by 2” square, is ideal for dropping it into a pocket for quick and easy access to capture every unexpected moment and memory. Additionally, once users have captured the perfect picture, since it is on the smartphone already, it is easy to share it online with any social media network site.

A lanyard slot makes it easy to attach the Polaroid iZone camera to the included wrist lanyard for even quicker access. Don’t have a phone handy - the Polaroid Wi-Fi camera also works without pairing with a phone - simply snap away and sync later to view and share pictures. The Wi-Fi camera comes with a micro-USB cord for charging, as well as syncing and viewing photos on any USB equipped device, including Personal Computers and TVs. The Polaroid iZone camera is expected in-store this spring for $179.99, just in time for capturing spring break and summer vacation memories.

"Smartphones will work for taking some photos, but the built-in digital zoom just isn’t great when it comes to image quality. To get better quality optical zoom on a smartphone requires adding an accessory lens, and it’s easy to miss the shot while you’re busy attaching the lens," said Edward Cohen, Vice President of Imaging with Sakar / Vivitar. "But, with the Polaroid iZone camera, you’ve got instant access to an impressive 8x optical zoom - the same lens unit as found in much larger, higher-end digital cameras. Simply point, zoom and snap."
