NikonNikon D5300 photo gallery : The 24.2 megapixel D5300 is a fine camera to shoot with! The camera is comfortable to handle and has a user-friendly operation. The button structure is clear and simple, via the i-button, the most important settings, such as the ISO and focus buttons, can be easily adjusted. The 3.2-inch screen is also legible in direct sunlight and through the LiveView switch on the top righthand side of the camera, you can quickly switch over to the Penta mirror viewfinder. On the top of the Nikon D5300 body, there is no information screen, as we are accustomed to in its bigger brother the D7100, but the target group of this mid-range SLR camera will probably not really miss it.

Nikon D5300 photo settings
You can create as many manual settings as you want to, but this SLR camera also takes beautiful photos in the automatic setting. Next to the Auto setting, you can choose the usual P, A, S, M settings via the dial. There are another 11 pre-programmed scene programs available. The Nikon D5300 also offers a special setting for portrait, landscape, children, sports, and close up, which you can select quickly and immediately. Additionally, the dial gives access to a series of effects. You can apply 9 different photo effects.

Image quality of the Nikon D5300
The D5300’s image quality is very good, and this partially has to do with the lack of anti-alias filter, that its predecessor, the D5200 had. This makes the photos very sharp, with nice, realistic colors. Due to the lack of filter, the photos should have more moiré pattern, but in practice, this is not really the case. That is a good choice, as far as we are concerned. Additionally, the camera has very little noise in bad lighting conditions. RAW photos also look better than previously. The Nikon D5300 is a valuable successor to the D5200, and scores very well in comparison with its competitors.
