The smaller and lighter AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VR II, a normal zoom lens covering the 18 to 55mm range of focal lengths has also been released. The Nikon D3300 is an entry-level camera offering an effective pixel count of 24.2-million pixels and equipped with a DX-format CMOS sensor with no optical low-pass filter, as well as the latest EXPEED 4 image processing engine, which achieves high-speed processing and superior image quality at high sensitivities. Nikon D3300 price information was not mentioned in the press release.

Nikon D3300

The Nikon D3300 camera body offers a high level of basic performance with support for continuous shooting at approximately 5 fps, an approximately 0.85x high-magnification viewfinder, and support for recording of 60p full HD movies that makes capturing moving subjects and decisive moments fun and easy. It offers better operation for easy capture of images that reflect user intent with Guide Mode that has been improved, enabling users to capture images as intended by simply following directions displayed in the camera monitor, and adoption of a new button that enables quick access to functions for application and adjustment of settings. The smaller size and lighter weight makes the D3300 body extremely portable while maintaining a high level of strength and durability.

D3300 camera features
What's more, the Nikon D3300 D-SLR camera is equipped with 'Special Effects' modes, with which effects can be selected and applied with recording of both still images and movies. Preview in the camera monitor before shooting or recording begins allows users to confirm the results of effect selection in real time. Image retouch functions also expand user enjoyment with effects that can be applied to images already recorded. Adoption of a new material made of carbon fiber and a monocoque structure that makes the cover a single box-type structure was first achieved through the utilization of Nikon's exclusive technologies with the D5300, released in November 2013.
