 Pentax WG-3 GPS camera : Pentax announce the launch of a new GPS digital compact camera. The Pentax Optio WG-3 GPS model offers the WG series’ best waterproof performance. The Pentax Optio WG-3 is waterproof down to 14 metres and shock resistance from a drop of two meters, for shooting in any environment. The Pentax GPS camera also features a newly designed, four-times optical zoom lens, with a maximum aperture of f/2.0. The high-sensitivity, back-illuminated CMOS image sensor, and new-generation imaging engine allow the Optio WG-3 GPS to deliver high-quality, low-noise images even in water, at night or in poorly lit surroundings. The camera incorporates a 3-inch LCD monitor, a dual-shake reduction system and records Full HD videos.

Pentax Optio GPS camera
The Pentax WG-3 GPS camera features advanced GPS functionality to record position data and travel log data onto captured images and adjust the built-in clock to local time. The GPS camera is equipped with a newly incorporated pressure sensor and digital compass, the user can not only check the pressure, altitude and underwater depth and direction of a shooting location, but also record such data onto captured images for future reference. The Pentax Optio WG-3 GPS is compatible with the wireless Qi (inductive power standard) recharging system, which automatically recharges the built-in battery simply by placing the camera on a Qi-compatible wireless recharger. Since this system eliminates the need to open and close the battery chamber cover, it greatly reduces the risk of unwanted substances, such as sand and dust, clinging to special water seals installed in the cover.

The Pentax Optio WG-3 GPS comes in two color options, purple and green. Included accessories of the Pentax Optio WG3 GPS are a carabiner strap, a macro stand, a rechargeable battery and battery charger, a USB cable and a CD rom. The GPS camera will start to retail in Europe, the Pentax WG-3 price is set at €350 and £330 in the UK. At the same time the camera will be available in the United States for an estimated price of $350.
