PanasonicCES 2013 NEWS - Panasonic Lumix TZ40 digital camera : Panasonic reveals a new series of Lumix cameras at the CES Show in Las Vegas. Among the new compact cameras is the Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ40 (also known as the Lumix DMC-ZS30 in the United States). The Panasonic DMC-TZ40 is a slim and stylish camera incorporating a 24mm wide angle Leica lens with 20x super zoom. The feature-packed Lumix DMC-TZ40 boosts a 18.1 megapixel MOS sensor and a Venus Engine processor for outstanding image quality, even in low-light situations. WiFi connectivity and NFC technology make sharing still photos and video clips easier and more fun than ever before. The Panasonic Lumix TZ40 also features GPS functionality,

The Panasonic DMC-TZ40 incorporates a 20x optical zoom lens, which can be extended to 40x Intelligent Zoom, thanks to Intelligent Resolution technology. The zoom functions are also available in video mode. The Panasonic Lumix TZ40 records Full HD 1920x1080 pixel videos at 50p. Power OIS and a renewed Hybrid IOS with 5-axis effectively compensate for the camera's 5 types of movement. Newly added Level Shot detects the horizontal line and keep it even if the Lumix TZ40 camera is tilted. In addition, the high speed video at 100fps in HD quality is available.

The Panasonic TZ40 will be available in a range of stylish colors; black, silver, white and burgundy. The Panasonic Lumix TZ40 will be available from March 2013 and carries an estimated retail price of €380. In the United States the camera will retail under the name Lumix ZS30 and carries a suggested retail price of $400. Available colors and retail prices may vary from country to country.
