 CES NEWS 2013 - Olympus Tough TG-830 iHS camera : At the CES Show in Las Vegas Olympus has revealed a new series of Stylus Tough cameras. The rugged Olympus Stylus Tough TG-830 iHS is a mid-range camera for active photographers who want to capture the action. The Olympus Tough TG-830 records high quality still images and high-speed Full HD video. The rugged Stylus Tough TG-830 iHS is perfect for a mountain adventure where a waterproof, shockproof, crushproof, freezeproof and dustproof camera body can withstand the elements. As intelligent as it is durable, the Olympus Stylus Tough TG-830 camera captures worry-free images in the most challenging environments with a 16-megapixel Back-Side Illuminated CMOS sensor and TruPic VI image processor.

The Olympus Stylus TG-830 delivers impressive performance in low-light conditions. High-speed responsiveness means you will get phenomenal results when shooting fast-action, night scenes and other tricky subjects above and below the surface. This Olympus Stylus camera can handle just about anything you throw at it, making it the ideal digital camera for a broad audience. With iAuto the Stylus Tough TG-830 automatically detects 34 different scenes, including portrait, landscape macro and many others. The Olympus Tough TG-830 also includes Magic Art filters, to add extra creativity to your photos.
Video recording with the Olympus Stylus TG-830
Action photography requires a fast digital camera. Olympus has therefore implemented iHS technology into the Tough TG-830, which enables high-speed photography. The Olympus Stylus Tough TG830 can record high-speed video at 120 fps in 720p HD and 240 fps in HVGA quality. In Full HD quality, the Olympus Stylus TG-830 can record 60 fps in 60i. Besides offering high speed video recording also Multi-recording is supported. This enables users to capture Full HD video and still images simultaneously. In addition the Olympus Stylus Tough TG-830 includes built-in GPS to geotag your pictures.

The Olympus Stylus TG-830 comes in four vivid colors: black, silver, red and blue. The Stylus Tough TG-830 sales box includes a hand strap, a Li-50B Lithium-Ion battery, a F-2AC AC adapter and a software CD-Rom. The Olympus Tough camera will be available in March 2013 for a suggested retail price of $280 in the USA and €300 in Europe. Availability of colors, retail prices and optional accessories may vary from country to country.
