Cheap Android smartphone from Samsung : Halfway through 2012 Samsung launched the Galaxy Pocket. A cheap smartphone with a touchscreen display and the Android operating system. This makes it an ideal smartphone for youngsters who do not want to spend too much money on their phone, while still being able to download apps. The Samsung Galaxy Pocket runs on the Android 2.3 OS, this is a somewhat outdated version that has not been upgraded in the meantime. But here comes the good news, Samsung seems to work hard on its successor; the Samsung Galaxy Pocket Plus. This new smartphone will again carry a very low price tag, while being equipped with the newer Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system.
