SamsungCheap Android smartphone from Samsung : Halfway through 2012 Samsung launched the Galaxy Pocket. A cheap smartphone with a touchscreen display and the Android operating system. This makes it an ideal smartphone for youngsters who do not want to spend too much money on their phone, while still being able to download apps. The Samsung Galaxy Pocket runs on the Android 2.3 OS, this is a somewhat outdated version that has not been upgraded in the meantime. But here comes the good news, Samsung seems to work hard on its successor; the Samsung Galaxy Pocket Plus. This new smartphone will again carry a very low price tag, while being equipped with the newer Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system.

The exact specifications of the Galaxy Pocket Plus are not yet certain. Its predecessor is equipped with a 2.8" touchscreen display, 832Mhz processor, 2 megapixel camera, WiFi and Bluetooth 3.0 support. The 3GB internal memory can be expanded with a microSD memory card. It is expected that the Samsung Galaxy Pocket Plus specifications are an improved version of the aforementioned specs.

At the time of the launch, the Galaxy Pocket price was set at €140 Euro. For this amount you get great value for money. We expect the Samsung Galaxy Pocket Plus to carry a similar retail price. Yet we have to be a little bit patient, as this cheap Android smartphone will probably not hit the market before Q2 2013.
