SamsungSamsung Galaxy S4 smartphone : About half a year ago, Samsung introduced its current flagship smartphone; the Galaxy S3. The many extra functions that are included into this Android smartphone come at a steep price, nevertheless the Galaxy S3 is the best-selling smartphone of 2012. Building on the success of this popular cell phone, Samsung recently announced a more compact and less featured version; the Galaxy S3 mini. But human would not be human if we would not already start to speculate about the true successor to the S3. Korean reports have just been published, showing detailed information on the revolutionary Samsung Galaxy S4.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 will, just like all other Galaxy smartphones, run on the Android operating system from Google. As it still takes several months before Samsung brings out official information on the Galaxy S4, it remains uncertain what Android version will be applied. The new flagship smartphone will boost a new processor, it is said that the Galaxy S4 will incorporate the new Exynos 5450, a 2Ghz quad-core A15 processor. Whether this extremely powerful processor will be truly included into the Galaxy S4 is still questionable, as such processing power asks for a lot of battery power.

Galaxy S4 features an OLED screen
Samsung is known for its high quality and extreme bright AMOLED displays. Just like with the S3, there are many rumors circulating about the screen type and size of the Galaxy S4. More and more people start to talk about an OLED screen. These displays have the advantage -compared to LED displays- that they consume less power, while being lighter and thinner. If the information is correct, the Samsung Galaxy S4 will feature a 4.8-inch OLED display with a resolution of 1366x768 pixels. In addition, it is expected that the digital camera function will also be enhanced. The Galaxy S4 will probably offer a 13 megapixel camera on the back and a 1.9-megapixel HD front-camera for video calling.

We do not expect to receive any official information about the Galaxy S4 before the end of the year. In February 2013 the Mobile World Congress will take place, this is usually the place where advanced smartphones get introduced. The Samsung Galaxy S3 however was introduced on a separate event, held by Samsung in May. We could say that the Samsung Galaxy S4 will be introduced in the first half of 2013. The new flagship will most likely be sold at the same price, or even slightly cheaper than the S3.
