The iPad mini comes in a new aluminum and glass design that is just 7.2mm thin and weighs only 0.68 pounds, making the mini tablet as thin as a pencil and as light as a pad of paper. The fast dual-core A5 chip contributes to a fast and fluid user experience with beautiful graphics. The WiFi performance of the Apple iPad mini tablet is twice as fast compared to previous iPad devices. The dual-band 802.11n Wi-Fi support reaches speeds up to 150 Mbps enabling Apple fans to browse, download and stream content faster than ever before.
Camera on the iPad mini
Featuring both a front-facing and a rear camera, the iPad mini is capable of taking photos and videos on the go. The FaceTime HD camera positioned on the front of the tablet is ideal for video calling. The iSight camera on the back is greatly suited for taking sharp photos in a maximum resolution of 5 megapixels as well as recording videos in Full HD quality. The iSight camera on the Apple iPad mini offers advanced optics, and a backside illumination sensor, making it easier to take pictures in low lighting conditions. Also included is a image stabilization function that works both in photo and video mode. Photos and videos taken with the iPad mini can be easily shared through the iCloud Shared Photo Stream.

The Apple iPad mini WiFi + Cellular will start shipping a couple of weeks later, beginning in the USA on the AT&T, Sprint and Verizon networks.

Apple iPad mini data plan
The iPad mini data plans will be available with no contract so you can simply sign up and activate service directly from your iPad. The Personal Hotspot feature means you can share a fast cellular data connection via Wi-Fi, Bluetooth or USB with up to five other devices such as MacBook Pro, iPod touch or another iPad. Apple also developed new polyurethane Smart Covers with a customize design for the iPad mini, the new covers and cases will be available in pink, green, blue, light gray, dark gray and red for just $40 USD.
