 Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 60mm macro lens sample photos : Directly at the introduction of the Olympus OM-D system camera, now about half a year ago, we were given the opportunity by Olympus to spend a full day long with this compact camera to make some sample photos. A rapid control operation, a very advanced 5-axis image stablisation system and many creative Art Filters make it a pleasure to photograph with the Olympus OM-D. In addition, the new sensor offers good noise reduction, with an excellent final result. Last month Olympus announced a new macro lens for the Olympus OM-D camera, the Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 60mm f2.8. This time we took the Olympus OM-D, together with the new 60mm macro lens to test this combination in practise.

Olympus sample photos : M.Zuiko 60mm macro lens test
The Olympus 60mm macro lens features the same dust- / splash-proof construction as the OM-D camera itself. It also has a special protective coating to protect the lens against scratches and bumps. Being a dedicated macro lens, it lets you take shots at close range in true (1:1) life size, as well as offering you continuous focusing from this distance to infinity. The Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 60mm f2.8 lens is not only ideally suitable for macro photos, the 60mm lens can also take beautiful landscape- and portrait photos with extreme precision. When the aperture is fully open -more light will come through- you can create beautiful shallow depth of field effects, with razor-sharp details and circular bokeh.
Olympus M.Zuiko 60mm lens price
The Olympus OM-D test sample we received in combination with the M.Zuiko 60mm lens is a full-production sample. Which means that the quality of this camera and lens are equal to the ones sold in the stores. Unfortunately, you will have to wait another month before the M.Zuiko Digital ED 60mm macro lens will be available in stores. From October the new macro lens is available at a suggested retail price of €600 Euro. The Olympus OM-D body price is set at €1100 Euro.
