 Leica V-Lux 4 digital camera : Leica is proud to announce its new compact camera, the Leica V-Lux 4 is so versatile that it takes every situation in its stride. The Leica V-Lux 4 features a fast (f/2.8) lens, enabling the photographer to capture incredible sharp pictures even in poor lighting conditions and throughout the entire zoom range of 25mm to 600mm. The Leica V-Lux 4 integrates a new electronic viewfinder, users now always have a perfect view of their subject, even in bright surroundings. The rotatable 3" LCD display on the Leica V-Lux 4 allows effortless composition of shots from even the most unusual angles. At the same time, the new Leica V-Lux 4 also features fast continuous-shooting capability and masters Full-HD video recording at up to 60 frames per second.

Leica V-Lux 4 camera lens
The Leica V-Lux 4 incorporates a new 12-megapixel CMOS image sensor ensuring outstanding still-picture and video quality with a high dynamic range and natural, perfectly saturated colours. Furthermore, the Leica V-Lux compact camera integrates a totally newly designed 24× super-tele-zoom lens, offering an enormous range of focal lengths, ranging from 25mm to 600mm (35mm equiv). With its constant maximum aperture of f/2.8 throughout the entire zoom range, the Leica DC Vario-Elmarit 4.5-108 mm f/2.8 ASPH. guarantees pin-sharp images even at high ISO settings and considerable distances.
New viewfinder on the Leica V-Lux 4
The Leica V-Lux 4 has a new high-resolution viewfinder, enabling photographers to perfectly assess image framing and exposure settings, even in brightly lit situations. The viewfinder has an impressively high resolution of 1.3 megapixels, shows 100% of the image frame and displays exactly the same exposure setting information as the camera’s monitor screen. Thanks to its magnification function, users of the Leica V-Lux 4 can zoom in on details of their subjects, while a dioptre compensation setting makes it ideal for use by spectacle wearers.
Leica V-Lux 4 autofocus system
Speed is the utmost priority in the Leica V-Lux 4: the autofocus system reacts in less than a tenth of a second and reliably captures fast-moving subjects. Its continuous-frame rate is also impressive: the Leica V-Lux 4 delivers consecutive burst shooting at a rate of up to 12 frames per second at full resolution. At a reduced resolution of 2.5 megapixels, the V-Lux 4 records at a fantastic 60 frames per second. Photographers can capture every action and important moment, even when shooting sports or wildlife.
Record Full-HD Video with the Leica V-Lux 4
The Leica V-Lux 4 captures full-HD video in AVCHD format with 1920 × 1080 pixels and 60 full frames per second. Thanks to the new sensor and its ability to capture faster frame rates, even fast-moving subjects are captured and reproduced in outstanding detail. Videos can now also be saved in the Internet-friendly MP4 format and can be uploaded directly to social media or mobile devices, for example, without the need for conversion. An integrated stereo microphone with a built-in wind-noise filter ensures outstanding audio quality.
Leica V-Lux 4 price & availability
All in all, the Leica V-Lux 4 is a camera that transforms every trip into a journey of discovery. The compact Leica camera is expected to become available in November 2012, the Leica V-Lux 4 price is set at €800 EUR / $1000 USD / £700 GBP.
