New Canon EOS M mirrorless camera : Finally the big day seems to come, also Canon is tacked and comes with its first compact system camera, the Canon EOS M. An advanced digital camera with interchangeable lenses, but smaller than a traditional digital SLR camera, due to the lack of a mirror - that is normally placed between the lens and the sensor in a SLR camera. In recent years we have seen all professional camera manufacturers introducing their own system camera. The PEN series of Olympus, the Lumix G Micro series of Panasonic, the NX series of Samsung, the 1 series of Nikon etc. To date Canon remained silent, but there seems to be real footage of the not yet officially introduced Canon EOS M system camera.

The product photos of the new Canon EOS M that have been published by the Japanese website Digicam-info -after obtaining the EOS M pictures from a local retail store- are of such good quality that we assume that the information is correct. It seems that the new Canon EOS system camera comes in a kit version with the EF-M 22mm f-2 lens. The price of the Canon EOS M is still unknown. But the very first Canon EOS system camera seems to get officially introduced at very short notice. Further speculating about when we will be able to see this Canon EOS M mirrorless camera in real-time, we think it will be at Photokina, which takes place this year in Cologne, Germany from 18-23 September.
