SonySony DSC-HX20V test photos : The Sony DSC-HX20V camera is an ideal travel partner thanks to its compact character and outstanding G-lens with 20x optical zoom. Next to manual control, there are a couple of automatic settings available, so that it is easy for amateur as well as ambitious photographers to take high quality photos with the Sony DSC-HX20V. The 18.2 megapixel CMOS sensor, together with the powerful Bionz processor, makes clear, noiseless photos. Noise suppression does seem to work too aggressively, so that details become a bit blotchy. This is often the case for competing camera models as well.

The automatic white balance works well; the Sony DSC-HX20V camera knows how to handle many different lighting circumstances correctly. Color representation is good and there is little lens distortion or chromatic aberration. Partially thanks to the fast autofocus, the Sony DSC-HX20V is simple and fast to operate. The G-lens has a range of 25-500mm. Next to the 20x optical zoom, there is a Clear Image Zoom, which doubles the zoom capacity up to 40x. In practice, this means that the camera can capture much more than we can see with our bare eyes. The fact that the quality diminishes a bit at the maximum zoom, can be taken for granted.

Sony DSC-HX20V photo functions
The Lithium N battery (NP-BG1) that comes included lasts for about 320 shots. In practice, this means a full day of photography pleasure. The camera is full of creative functions. Next to face detection, the Sony DSC-HX20V has smile detection, so that even the sensitivity of the smile can be installed from a great big smile to a shy smile. Additionally, about fifteen scenes as well as seven artistic filter effects can be applied. You can also take macro photos, panorama shots and 3D photos with the Sony DSC-HX20V.
