The Nikon Coolpix L810 has various automatic photo functions, which can easily be selected via the separate ‘Scene’ button on the back of the camera. Thanks to the smart portrait system, the Coolpix L810 knows if the person in front of the camera is smiling or blinking. Red eyes are also detected and the skin tone can be softened as well. Next to taking nice portraits, the Nikon Coolpix L810 has 19 subject modes. These offer optimal camera settings automatically, after choosing the mode that is suitable in the situation, think of ‘Landscape’ or ‘Sports’.

The 16 megapixel Nikon Coolpix L810 does not have any creative filters, which are found in the competing Olympus and Samsung camera models. The Nikon L810 does have a color mode, next to normal mode, you can choose Lively, Black&White, Sepia, and Cool Blue. The color options can be easily selected via the menu.
