 Olympus TG-820 test photos : The waterproof and shockproof Olympus TG-820 is a 12 megapixel digital camera with a new backlit CMOS sensor. This sensor, together with the trusted True Pic VI-image processor and the innovative iHS technologies, delivers a better image quality than its predecessor did. With a very high sensitivity and improved noise suppression, iHS is the basis of a number of functions newly developed by Olympus that simplifies digital photography. Examples are the fast autofocus and the HDR backlight correction, with which the Olympus TG-820 automatically takes several shots when shooting with backlight, these images are then merged into one perfectly lit photo.

The user-friendly Olympus TG-820 digital compact camera has a clear menu structure. There are always various fast-icons shown on the right side in order to adjust photo settings quickly and easily. The Olympus TG-820 just as other Olympus compact cameras has an iAuto mode. In this mode, the camera itself optimizes the settings, so that as photographer you only have to point and shoot. Is that a bit too simple? Don’t worry, there is also a Program mode, with which you can change the settings manually, such as the white balance and the ISO values. Additionally, there is a Beauty mode integrated and there are various Scene programs available.
Olympus TG-820 filter effects
More and more camera manufacturers equip their digital cameras with filter effects. The Olympus TG-820 is also equipped with mere 12 Magic filters to make unique and creative photos. We have seen most of the effects before, such as Pop-art and Pinhole. I personally found Watercolor and Sparkle to be fun additions. The filter effects are moreover not only applicable to photos, but the Magic filters can also be applied to videos.
