NokiaNokia 808 PureView smartphone : At the Nokia press conference held earlier this morning at the Mobile World Congress 2012 in Barcelona, Nokia introduced a new series of phones, including the high-end Nokia 808 PureView smartphone. This is the first smartphone to feature Nokia PureView imaging technologies, that provides a breakthrough in photography. The Nokia 808 PureView incorporates high-end digital camera features never seen before in a smartphone. The 41 megapixel image sensor and Carl Zeiss lens captures photos with an impressive detail and turns them into vivid and bright 5 megapixel photos and Full HD videos. In short, the camera condenses 7 pixels into one perfect pixel for incredible detail rich photos.

The Nokia 808 PureView camera phone combines a high resolution 41 MP sensor, exclusive high-performance Carl Zeiss optics and new algorithms to give people the ability to take better photos and videos than ever before. At standard resolutions (2/3, 5 and 8 megapixels) this means the ability to zoom up to 3 times, with no loss of detail and capture 7 pixels of information, condensing into one pixel for the sharpest pictures imaginable.

The Nokia PureView can also capture high-resolution photos, up to a maximum of 38 megapixels, enabling the user to capture a photo, then zoom, reframe, crop and resize afterwards to expose new levels of details, previously unseen. With superior low-light performance and the ability to save in compact file sizes for sharing via Email, MMS, and Social network websites, the Nokia 808 PureView smartphone makes it possible for anyone to capture professional looking pictures in any conditions.

Video features of the Nokia 808
The Nokia 808 PureView smartphone not only captures stunning still-pictures, it also includes Full HD 1080p video recording at 30fps with 4X lossless zoom. When recording 720p HD videos, you can use up to 6x lossless zoom. In addition, video autofocus was an area that needed to be dramatically improved. Because of the much larger image sensor of the Nokia 808 PureView, the optics give you a relatively shallow depth of field. What’s more, oversampling techniques in video are used to achieve a holy grail of low visual noise with extremely high levels of detail. As a result, the autofocus system for the Nokia 808 is more precise and sensitive.

Nokia 808 PureView smartphone
The Nokia 808 PureView uses a new zoom concept called Slide Zoom. Conventional zoom can be slow and imprecise, and sometimes you need to make adjustments to get the exact framing you need. Slide Zoom is fast, direct and precise - it gets the framing right first time. All you have to do is slide your finger up or down on the display to interact. As you move your finger on the display, a ‘frame’ appears on the screen which moves in sync with your finger. This allows you to preview the framing before committing, which is particularly useful for video recording.

Audio features of the Nokia PureView
The Nokia 808 PureView is the first smartphone to use Nokia Rich Recording, to record best in class stereo audio with every detail. Nokia Rich Recording can also record very low frequencies, without any distortion. The combination of all of these elements means the Nokia PureView records audio with almost CD like quality. It has to be heard to be believed. In terms of both visual and audible performance, the Nokia 808 simply has no equal. The Nokia 808 PureView Symbian-Belle phone also features exclusive Dolby Headphone technology, transforming stereo content into a personal surround sound experience over any headphones and Dolby Digital Plus for 5.1 channel surround sound playback.
