SonySony CyberShot DSC-WX50 digital camera : Just a few weeks prior to the CP+ Camera & Photo Imaging Show in Japan Sony announces three new Cybershot digital still cameras, among them is the Sony CyberShot DSC-WX50. The new CyberShot WX50 is part of the stylish, traditionally designed W-series from Sony. Equipped with a high-resolution 16.2 MP Exmor R CMOS sensor, the new Sony DSC-WX50 digital camera guarantees brilliant pictures even in low light conditions. The 2.7-inch LCD screen of the Sony CyberShot WX50 lets users frame and review their photos in great detail making it even more fun to capture precious memories anytime and anywhere.

The Sony CyberShot WX50 lets you get close to the action with a 5x optical zoom lens and 10x Clear Image zoom, a new technology which doubles the optical zoom for closer, clearer pictures. Photos not enough for you? Try the Full HD 1080p video mode to capture compelling videos at 60fps. And users of the Sony DSC-WX50 can take full benefit from the Exmor R CMOS sensor, making outstanding, brilliant and balanced images even in darker settings. The new Sony CyberShot DSC-WX50 camera also features the new "Extra High Sensitivity" technology, which minimizes unwanted noise in low-light shooting conditions.

The Sony DSC-WX50 digital camera also offers image stabilization during video and still shooting. Using technology borrowed from the Sony Handycam line-up, the "Optical Steady Shot Active Mode" drastically reduces blurring caused by camera shake while on the move. The Sony CyberShot DSC-WX50 can shoot video in Full HD 1080p resolution, at 60fps. The camera also include a Dual Record function, making it possible to capture 12 megapixel photos while recording a video.

The popular Intelligent Sweep Panorama function, also incorporated in other CyberShot cameras, makes it easy to capture high resolution, wide panorama photos with the Sony WX50. Beside the normal Panorama function, the camera also integrates a 3D Sweep Panorama function. Also normal 3D pictures can be recorded with the Sony CyberShot WX50, creating a whole new dimension of creative capabilities for viewing the world in a completely new way.

Beside the new CyberShot DSC-WX50 digital camera Sony also offers a wide range of stylish accessories, including the LCS-WM and LCS-THT soft carrying cases. Both the camera and the accessories will be available from March 2012. The Sony DSC-WX50 camera will be available in silver and black for an estimated retail price of $200 USD / €160 Euro (prices may vary from country to country).
