 New Pentax Optio VS20 digital camera : Pentax Ricoh Imaging announces a new powerful Super Zoom digital camera. The Pentax Optio VS20 features a 20x wide-angle zoom lens and a second release shutter button on the side, which is great added value when taking portrait pictures. The vertical shutter release and zoom ring give the Pentax Optio VS20 a unique feature typically found on DSLR cameras. The Optio VS20 even includes a vertical tripod socket for outstanding stabilized vertical support. Moreover, the Pentax Optio VS20 is filled with the latest technologies, like a 16 megapixel sensor and a bright 3" color LCD screen. The new Pentax camera also benefits from a new Handheld Night Snap mode, offering less noise and better sharpness in low-light conditions.

Pentax Optio VS20
Thanks to its high end performance, the Optio VS20 is the ideal compact camera for everyday pictures as well as for travelling and sports images. The range of this optical zoom (28-560mm) can cover nearly everything, making it an ideal lens for any kind of pictures you want to take. The Pentax VS20 also offers a 1cm macro mode and a "smart zoom" function, allowing the user to extend the focal length to 4032mm, passing from 20x to 144x zoom!

Besides the integration of three types of image stabilization, in order to offer sharp pictures and videos in any situation, the Pentax Optio VS20 is equipped with several other advanced functions and user-friendly features, including Scene Recognition (the camera automatically detects which scenes mode to use), Face recognition (the camera can recognize a face and set focus on it), Smile detection (the camera automatically releases the shutter when a smile is detected) and Blink detection (the camera sends out a warning when people have their eyes closed).
Pentax Optio VS20 video
The Pentax Optio VS20 supports HD video recording (1280 x 720 pixels). Users can also access the video mode directly from any other mode thanks to the dedicated button on the back of the camera. In order not to limit the users creativity, the Pentax VS20 also supports the scene modes "Fish Eye", "Sketch" and "Miniature" in video mode.
Pentax VS20 price & availability
The Pentax Optio VS20 Super Zoom camera will be available in noble black and brilliant white on for an estiamted retail price of $250 USD from February 2012. In Europe the Pentax VS20 will appear from March 2012 for a suggested retail price of €200 Euro (prices may vary from country to country).
