 CES 2012 NEWS - Olympus Tough TG-320 : At the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Olympus introduced a new All-weather digital compact camera; The Olympus Tough TG-320. The Olympus TG-320 camera is shockproof, waterproof and freeze proof, just like all Olympus Tough cameras it comes with a worry-free guarantee. Not only is it virtually indestructible, this Olympus camera gives you also great value for money. For less than €150 Euro you get a waterproof camera with everything you need to record full HD videos and still photos in 14 Megapixel image quality. The Olympus TG320 features a host of automatic functions and a versatile lens that gives you the opportunity to take wide-angle photos or zoom in for impressive close-up pictures.

Olympus was the first digital camera manufacturer to develop a range of All-Weather cameras and their expertise shows through in a clever choice of features that make it easy to capture full HD videos and pictures in impressive image quality. The Olympus Tough TG320 features Dual Image Stabilization and an 2.7” scratch-resistant LCD display that works fine at bright sunlight. The Olympus Tough camera lens is protected by a special hard glass barrier and when you don’t have to worry about damaging high-grade components like this, using your digital camera is suddenly a lot more fun.

Digital cameras at this price tag don’t have space for wide-aperture lenses or support high ISO numbers to counteract image blur. The Olympus TG 320 compensates with Dual IS, reducing blur in poor light conditions and with fast moving subjects. Other Automatic features on the Olympus TG-320 camera include underwater 3D mode, Intelligent Auto Mode (i-Auto) and AF Tracking that help ensure even hectic scenes come out bright and sharp. There are eight filters for adding special effects - unlike most rival cameras - six of these 'Magic Filters' also work with HD video recording.

You can drop the Olympus onto a rock from a height of 1.5 meters or let it sink in a swimming pool up to 3 meters. You can leave your Tough camera outside in temperatures as low as -10° Celsius. When you brush the snow off in the morning, it’ll still operates. A waterproof system of double seals protects the inner casing while a double lock mechanism stops anyone unintentionally opening the memory card slot, ports and battery compartment underwater. A hard glass lens barrier safeguards the 3.6x wide optical zoom lens.

The Olympus Tough TG-320 All-weather compact digital camera will be available from February 2012 in the colors Red and Blue. The Olympus TG-320 carries a suggested retail price of $180 USD in the United States. Price in Europe is set at €149 Euro (Prices may vary from country to country).
