 Nikon P7100 test photos : The Nikon P7100 is a 10 megapixel digital camera with a 7.1x Nikkor zoom lens. The Nikon P7100 belongs to the Nikon Performance-series, this digital compact camera series is designed for the professional photographer as a good alternative to a digital reflex camera. The Nikon P7100 replaces the P7000 as Nikon’s flagship digital compact camera. The camera has a fast processor, produces RAW files and has a tilting screen. The Nikon P7100 is the ideal camera if you want complete control over your shots. Additionally, the camera of course has an Auto mode.

The Nikon P7100 has various advanced functions that enhance image quality. There is the known Nikon D-Lighting function to ensure good lighting, and Picture Control allows you to adjust the entire camera according to your own wishes. There are also two function buttons for which the photographer can designate a desired function. For the creative ones among us, there are also about ten special effects.

We are very satisfied with the Nikon P7100’s image quality. The colors appear natural and the lighting is outstanding. The camera has little chromatic aberration and the photos are actually always sharp. The Nikon P7100’s sensitivity range is between ISO 100 and 3200. Up to ISO 800 there is little noise perceivable. ISO 1600 is still acceptable, but I would avoid ISO 3200.
