Nikon D4 digital SLR camera : For over half a year rumors are circulating about the successor to the Nikon D3, slowly but surely the launch date of the Nikon D4 is getting closer. Mr. Nokuaki Sasagaki, General Manager of the Marketing Department of Nikons Imaging Division has given an interview last week for the Japanese Digital Camera Magazine, in which he stated that the long-awaited successor to the Nikon D3 (assuming that this concerns the Nikon D4) will be introduced early next year. The Nikon D4 reflex camera was actually scheduled for this year, but because of the various disasters (the earth quake in Japan and the floods in Thailand) the introduction of the Nikon D4 was delayed.

The current flagship, the Nikon D3 was introduced in august 2007, it's about time for an update. In the interview Mr. Sasagaki says that the Nikon D4 will feature a new image sensor with a higher resolution. Earlier discussions on the internet already reported about a 16 megapixel Full Frame sensor. The Nikon D4 will also be faster than its predecessor (11 frames per second) and will also have a higher sensitivity (ISO range from 100 to 102.400). We will have to wait for the official launch a little while longer, the CES Show in Las Vegas will start beginning of January 2012 and the CP+ in Japan will start beginning of February. We will undoubtedly hear more about the Nikon D4 professional SLR camera in the upcoming month.
