 New Canon EOS SLR camera under development : Canon is developing a new EOS SLR camera that will be ideally suited for cinematographic and other digital high-resolution production applications. The Canon EOS SLR camera will incorporate a 35mm full-frame CMOS sensor offering exceptional image quality. The Canon SLR camera will be able to record 4K video at a frame rate of 24p, with Motion-JPEG compression. Beside the development of a new Canon EOS SLR camera, the company will also launch a new Cinema EOS system to complete its portfolio for the digital high-resolution production industry. The new professional digital cinematography system spans the lens, digital video camcorder and digital SLR camera product categories.

The Canon EOS SLR cameras incorporate video recording for some time now, coupled with the wide selection of lenses in Canon's interchangeable EF lens lineup, the video feature gives the user impressive possibilities, delivering such characteristics as beautiful image blur and low noise. Besides the Canon EOS SLR camera body is compact and lightweight for great mobility and maneuverability. The Canon EOS SLR camera specifications, product name and launch date will be announced at a later stage.
