NokiaNokia N9 smartphone : Last month Nokia introduced its innovative Nokia N9 smartphone. The modern and sleek Nokia N9 MeeGo is equipped with a full touch screen, without a single button on the front of the phone. Despite its thin form factor, the Nokia N9 feels solid thanks to its polycarbonate housing. Besides a large and bright AMOLED screen and NFC support, the Nokia N9 smartphone offers a 8 Megapixel digital camera with 28mm Carl Zeiss lens and a double LED flash. The Nokia N9 camera responds quickly, due to the continuous auto focus feature photos can be recorded easily. HD video recording is also possible with the Nokia N9 smartphone.

In the year 2000 the first mobile phone with a camera was introduced in Japan, the Sharp J-SH04 featured an built-in 0,1 megapixel camera. Photographers remained sceptical about the image quality of a mobile phone camera for a long period of time. But nowadays the image quality is good enough to make nice and clear pictures. The last year introduced Nokia N8 offered a digital camera with a 12 Megapixel resolution. The new Nokia N9 smartphone is equipped with a 8 Megapixel camera, despite the lower resolution, the picture quality is better. With the help of to a new image sensor that supports both 4:3 and 16:9 wide screen format, the creative possibilities of the Nokia N9 are unprecedented.

The hardware and software of the Nokia N9 smartphone are not yet final, and therefore the image quality isn't either, but it does give a reasonable impression of what the Nokia N9 camera is capable to. Take a look at the Nokia N9 test photos from Nokia Conversation team member Damian Dinning.
