Samsung Galaxy S2 Smartphone sold 3 million times : Samsung announced that the Samsung Galaxy S2 (Model: Samsung GT-I9100), has reached global sales of 3 million handsets, 55 days after its initial release. Within the period, a Samsung Galaxy S2 Smartphone was sold in every 1. 5 seconds. This record shortens the record of 85 days of its predecessor Samsung Galaxy S, a 10 million global seller, by 30 days. Samsung has increased its mobile market share in Europe, owing to the Samsung Galaxy S2 Smartphone there. In the United Kingdom where the local major reviewers selected the Samsung Galaxy S2 as the best Smartphone in May and June 2011, Samsung has become the most sold mobile brand for straight 17 weeks.

In Austria, Samsung Galaxy S2 jumped into the 4th place on the Smartphone hit-list, right after its release. In Switzerland, it jumped into the third position. Owing to the fast-growing popularity of Samsung Galaxy S2, Samsung topped the Austrian Smartphone market with the market share of 30%. Samsung also seized 36% of the Smartphone market in Switzerland. Meanwhile, Samsung held the launching events of Samsung Galaxy S2 Smartphone in Mexico and Brazil on June 30 to spread its ‘Flagship Smartphone’ to Latin America.
