Leica M9-P rangefinder camera : Leica announces a new full-frame digital system camera for professional photographers. The compact Leica M9-P will be placed alongside the Leica M9 in the rangefinder camera portfolio. The Leica M9-P offers a more discreet and resilient design and particularly meets the needs of processional photographers. Offering the same technical specifications as the highly successfully M9, the Leica M9-P combines all the benefits of the original: compact size, full-frame, 18 megapixel 24 x 36mm sensor (35mm format), sophisticated image processing and robust construction, with features designed for the professional photographer or users who prefer a pure, even more unobtrusive styling.

The LCD screen of the Leica M9-P is not just scratch-resistant, but almost unbreakable. The sapphire crystal covering is so tough that the screen can only be produced using special diamond cutting tools. In addition, thanks to an anti-reflective coating on both sides of the cover, reviewing images on the Leica M9-P display is further improved, particularly in bad lighting conditions. The external covering of the Leica M9-P body, finished in vulcanite leatherette, features a more coarselytextured finish that ensures a steady grip when shooting, making the Leica M9-P feel particularly safe and secure in the hand.

The Leica M9-P rangefinder frames precisely the shot the photographer envisages, while allowing a clear view of the scene outside the viewfinder frame. Making it easy for photographers to capture the subject at the exact right moment. That makes the Leica M9-P rangefinder camera ideal in all fields of photography, from photojournalism and reportage to the capture of portraits and aesthetic, fine-art images.

Leica M9-P camera for professional photography
Like the Leica M9, you can barely hear the shutter of the Leica M9-P, a great advantage for unobtrusive photography. Another significant advantage for unobtrusive photography is the almost silent shutter, a feature of both the M9 and M9P. Moreover, when longer exposure times requiring an extremely steady camera stance are essential, only a slight pressure on the shutter release button in 'soft release' mode is required. Photographers can also select the most appropriate moment for re-cocking the shutter of the Leica M9-P.

The Leica M9-P now makes photography even more unobtrusive - instead of the red dot on the front, it now bears a restrained Leica logogram on the top deck. And, in turn, is even more discreet. The functions of the Leica M9-P camera are consistently constructed for extreme durability and a long working life. Almost all existing Leica M lenses can be used with the Leica M9P. The Leica M9-P rangefinder camera comes in the colours silver chrome and black paint.
