AppleDatacolor SpyderGallery iPad Color Calibration : Datacolor release its SpyderGallery iPad app available for free download on the Apple App Store. Datacolor is the first to develop a software app to allows for custom color profiling of iOS devices and is the first to provide a viewer to apply custom color corrections to images. Apple iPad users who download the SpyderGallery app can enjoy color corrected viewing of their photos in the standard photo library albums. The app provides an easy-to-use color calibration utility for owners of Datacolor’s Spyder3 display calibration solutions to create a custom color profile on their Apple iPad. Using the Spyder3, the app will measure and profile color on the Apple iPad and then apply color correction to images displayed through the SpyderGallery.

Viewing images through the color-managed viewer will allow for more accurate colors and provide users with a closer match to desktop monitors and other color-managed displays. “For photographers who use the Apple iPad as a portable portfolio tool, the Datacolor SpyderGallery is a critical component to their photo gear to ensure work is being displayed correctly,” said Knut Fenner, Vice President, Imaging Color Solutions, Datacolor. “Those wanting to display images while on-the-go, whether for professional or personal use, will no longer need to compromise color accuracy for the convenience of the iPad.”
