OlympusOlympus Tough TG-810 digital camera : The new Olympus indestructible camera is tougher than ever. The new Olympus Tough TG-810 delivers high quality HD videos and pictures, as well as unlimited peace of mind. This state-of-the-art Olympus Tough camera blows the competition away with record-breaking ruggedness and a unique Tough technology. The Olympus TG-810 flagship camera is the world’s first camera that’s crushproof to a weight of 100kg, so if you accidentally step on it, the camera will still do fine. Thanks to a double-durable lens and port technology, the Olympus TG-810 is also waterproof, shockproof, freezeproof and scratch resistant to an unprecedented degree. The Olympus Tough TG-810 digital camera will be available for €299 from mid-March 2011.

Olympus TG-810

Olympus TG-810 crushproof camera
You don’t have to live like a stuntman to abuse a camera. But with the Olympus TG-810 flagship camera, it doesn't matter when you let the camera slip through your hands. The Olympus TG-810 is the first digital camera that is crushproof up to a weight of 100kg. But that’s not all. A sliding double lock mechanism and additional metal lens barrier ensure the Olympus TG-810 is waterproof to a huge depth of 10m, shockproof to a height of 2m and freezeproof to -10°C. There’s even a built-in manometer to make sure you don’t dive too deep. Just as well. Because the new Olympus Tough TG-810 camera is packed with ingenious technology that’s hard to find elsewhere - and makes it a joy to capture pictures and HD videos, whatever the weather, wherever you are.

Olympus TG-810 GPS camera
The best digital cameras (and mobile phones) often come with an integrated GPS function. But only Olympus’ GPS & Electronic Compass has three sensors to record the direction the camera is pointing (even when it’s turned off). That makes the Olympus TG-810 an excellent device for finding your way in unfamiliar surroundings. The Olympus Tough camera can show more than 700,000 nearby geographic and natural points of interest - the maximum for a GPS-equipped digital camera. At a glance, users can check their latitude, longitude and altitude, shooting direction, the date and time or air and water pressure.

Olympus TG810

Olympus TG-810 HD video function
The Olympus TG-810 offers High Definition video (HD video) delivering a broadcast-quality video experience when played back on an HDTV. In HD Movie Mode, the Olympus camera captures HD video using the MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 movie compression format at a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels.

Olympus TG-810 underwater photo settings
In the water, the Olympus TG-810 digital camera really comes into its own. In i-Auto Mode, the camera detects when it is underwater and automatically activates i-Underwater Snapshot. i-Underwater Snapshot, one of four underwater settings, detects when the camera is submerged and adjusts white balance automatically to ensure beautiful bright and clear images - even in optional 3D. It’s perfect for portraits shot in shallow water and captures the subject and the background vividly.

Olympus Tough TG-810 LCD display
No matter the element, the 5x wide optical zoom lens (28-140mm) provides precision and flexibility, while the large, 3" 920,000 dot high-definition HyperCrystal III LCD reproduces pictures on the spot in very high quality. The LCD display also has a special layer that reflects light from external sources, thus reducing reflection even in direct sunlight - for outstanding visibility in a variety of shooting situations.

Olympus TG-810 3D photo shooting mode
The Olympus TG-810 digital camera captures two shots of a scene from two different angles to create digital still images that can be viewed with the added excitement and realism of 3D (on a 3D-compatible display). There are two 3D photo shooting settings: Manual and Automatic. In both 3D settings, the camera indicates when it is time to pan. In Automatic, when the Olympus TG-810 camera is panned horizontally after the first shot, it automatically takes the second shot at the ideal moment. The Manual mode is for 3D photo experts - the user decides when to take the second shot.

Olympus TG-810 TAP Control Mode
The Olympus TG-810 camera also offers a unique interface that lets users access a range of camera functions simply by tapping the camera body. Quick View Mode, Shooting Mode, a user-defined feature (Flash or SAT), and Snow Mode can be accessed by tapping at particular points of the digital camera. Tilting the Olympus TG-810 camera scrolls through images in Playback Mode.
