The Canon Legria HF M41 , Legria HF M46 and Legria HF M406 are designed for users looking to have fun and take their video skills to the next level. All models feature Canon’s HD CMOS Pro sensor to provide outstanding, professional-quality Full HD video, while a new and unique Story Creator feature provides a fresh, intuitive way to capture movies that tell a story.
Canon Legria M41

Canon Legria M41 camcorder sensor
Using a HD CMOS Pro sensor adopted from Canon’s professional camcorder range, each camera offers drastically enhanced performance in low light, thanks to a 160% increase in the sensor’s light sensing area. Larger pixels are able to gather more light, increasing sensitivity and providing a wider dynamic range for greater tonal gradation between highlights and dark shadows. Accurate colour reproduction ensures all images are of optimum quality, while the sensor’s Full HD resolution means users can shoot and view footage on HDTVs with no resizing.

Canon Legria HF M-series camcorder lens
An all-new genuine Canon HD Video lens features a sophisticated optical system designed for fast, silent and accurate performance and minimal distortion. A 10x optical zoom allows users to shoot subjects from a range of focal lengths, and a maximum f/1.8 aperture also provides faster shooting, combining with an iris diaphragm to create more attractive background blur. The new lens also features Canon’s leading Optical Image Stabilizer (OIS) technology, making it easy for users to capture shake-free footage in a range of situations. Dynamic IS reduces the effect of camera shake in situations where the user may be moving and shooting simultaneously, and Powered IS allows users to maintain steady performance at the extreme tele-end of the zoom - instantly stabilising the image so users can shoot distant stationary subjects without the need for a tripod.

Story Creator mode on the Canon Legria M41
New Story Creator mode acts as a personal movie director, providing users with guidance regarding the type of scenes they could capture to tell their story - whether it’s a holiday diary or a family gathering. Creative, simple and easy, Story Creator is a fun, innovative way to shoot and share footage, and is handled completely in-camera, to create movies on the go.

Canon Legria M46

Canon Legria HF M41 camcorder features
All models feature a large, 7.5cm (3.0”) Touch-screen LCD with a 230k-dot resolution, allowing users to access a range of controls, including Touch Decoration - a fun, new, and unique video-enhancing feature that allows users to add animations, stamps, frames and messages to their footage in real time. The LCD ensures pictures are sharp, menus simple and content easy to find, while a 0.61cm (0.24”) Electronic Viewfinder (EVF) on the Canon Legria HF M41 also provides an alternative way to capture footage in more difficult lighting conditions.

Canon M41 camcorder with Cinema-Look Filters
Another new feature on the Canon Legria HF M-series, Cinema-Look Filters, makes it easy to transform everyday scenes by instantly altering the look and feel of footage. Users can preview different effects and pick the one that best suits the scene; with up to eight filters pre-loaded to offer a range of effects that instantly change the mood of footage. ‘Vivid’ effect adds colour and vibrancy to footage, while ‘Dream’ softens focus to create a magical, dreamlike effect, and ‘Cool’ effect gives scenes a feel similar to that of a sci-fi movie. All filters are also applied in-camera, providing users with another way to creatively enhance their footage without the need for a PC or additional software.

Canon M46

Canon Legria M41 camcorder microphone
The new Canon Legria HF M-series also offers leading audio features, courtesy of a new high performance internal microphone. Built using high quality components, the microphone offers greater sensitivity, capturing clearer audio in the quietest scenes with minimal background noise. Directionality Switching also allows users to adjust the recording function the sound to suit a given subject, and a Zoom Mic automatically increases the audio level when zooming in to ensure that audio of distant subjects is of optimum quality. An Audio Equaliser allows the tone of the sound to be optimised for the best results, allowing users to adapt the audio to suit the subject, scene or content.

Record HD videos with the Canon Legria M-series camcorders
All models make it easy to capture outstanding video, even for beginners. New and improved Smart Auto instantly detects the scene conditions when shooting, automatically selecting one of 38 different settings to record the best possible footage. A new Tele Macro function provides fantastic close-ups of objects as near as 40cm away. Whether shooting people, scenery or landscapes, Smart Auto does all the hard work during shooting - all the user has to do is frame the subject they want to capture. Instant AF technology provides fast and accurate auto-focus, which is crucial for high quality HD video, with a fast, 2-sensor system that prevents any focusing errors that may be amplified on larger HD screens. Face Detection works in harmony with Instant AF to ensure any faces the user wants to capture are singled-out as the point of focus and are well-exposed.

Canon Legria HF-M406

Canon Legria camcorder with dual memory slot
All models feature dual memory card slots with support for the latest SDXC cards, with Relay Recording allowing users to continue shooting for longer by automatically switching to the next available storage source when the one in use becomes full. Footage that has been down-converted to standard definition in-camera can also be uploaded directly to the web using Eye-Fi connected functions, allowing users to share content with friends or family.
