CanonCanon Expo 3D experience : Visitors to the Projection Display zone of the Canon Expo 2010 were immersed in a 3D experience which makes use of a huge 9 meter diameter dome and takes them on a trip to key sites in Paris, Tokyo and New York. This was achieved by using a projection technique of layering multiple images from 10 Canon XEED SX7 Mark II projectors, which will create a panoramic view. The dome will be set at a 35° angle, so that visitors can look into the 3D image. The dome is suitable as a high-end solution for environments such as a museum, planetarium or visitor centre. The Projection Display zone was part of the Canon Expo in Paris which is held every five years.

Canon Expo 3D experience : Multi-Screen Solution
Through the 2D multi-screen solution, visitors will be taken on a visual and acoustic journey, immersing them in a concert experience which demonstrates a combination of high-definition image quality and high-fidelity sound. Six XEED SX7 Mark II’s projectors are used to create a seamless 10 meter wide image, while the sound is provided by an integrated system from L’Océan stereo system and a CRCS controller (associated with Baltic speakers) to create surround effects.

Canon Expo 3D Presentation Solution
The recently launched Canon XEED projectors are integrated into the zone solutions, incorporating leading LCOS and lens technology. Designed for applications where quality is key, these projectors are able to communicate the image with ultimate accuracy and fidelity in high resolution. Canon gives insight into 3D business applications for visitors using two XEED WUX10 Mark II passive 3D systems.

Demonstrations on the Canon Expo 3D experience
Demonstrations will also show how 3D is used in business applications such as: industrial design, vehicle development and architecture. These are typical examples where a designer may ‘step inside’ environments while in conceptual stage in order to reduce associated project costs.
