NikonNikon AF-S Nikkor 55-300mm f/4-5.6G ED VR review : With the introduction of the Nikon D3100, Nikon has equipped an entry level SLR model with the latest technical touches once again. This amateur DSLR camera will be delivered with a kit lens, the AF-S DX 18-55 mm VR, and perhaps added to with a 55-200mm f/4-5.6G ED AF-S DX Nikkor lens. It is, however, expected that a new kit possibility will be given after the introduction of a new megazoom lens. The new Nikon AF-S Nikkor 55-300mm f/4-5.6G ED VR is a powerful standard zoom lens, especially designed for DSLR cameras with a DX-sensor, such as the Nikon D3100. Compared with 35mm cameras, the Nikon offers a range of 55-300mm in 82.5 - 450mm.

Nikon 55-300mm review - Tele lens
It is a true tele for tele fans. It is of course important to watch for the shutter speed times, but this is compensated for by the presence of Nikon’s own stabilization system (VR). Just like the FX lenses that were introduced at the same time as the Nikon AF-S 55-300mm ED VR, this tele zoom lens has an image stabilizer from the second generation, which is necessary, seeing the large tele range of this lens.

Nikon 55-300mm lens review - For outdoor photography
The Nikon 55-300mm lens is an interesting zoom lens for the amateur photographer that already owns a Nikon DX camera, or is looking to buy one. It is a typical zoom lens for outdoor photography, especially with a minimum focal distance of 1.4 meters. It is an easy, comfortable lens, as you no longer have to switch between lenses if the subject is far away. It is a fun zoom lens to take with you on vacation.

Nikon will of course be present and will present and demonstrate its entire assortment of cameras, lenses and other image solutions. The new Nikon lens will thoroughly tested on the technical aspects shortly in the DIWA Lab and as soon as we the have the opportunity, we will also thoroughly test this lens in practice. As soon as the test results are ready, an in-depth Nikon AF-S 55-300mm f/4-5.6G ED VR lens review will be published.
