Samsung NX100 digital camera : With the introduction of the NX10, Samsung has put its own version of a system camera onto the market. This is a camera that is generally received quite positively. A few months later, Samsung introduced a second NX-camera system, the Samsung NX5. It is remarkable that this model seems to be bound to one region, and is thus not yet available worldwide. The differences between both cameras are negligible, and it appears that it is actually just a price-target gimmick. Still, there are indications that a new NX-camera will soon be introduced, namely the Samsung NX100. The Samsung NX100 camera was first seen on the official Samsung website.

Quickly thereafter, the name ‘disappeared’ and the first rumors started doing the rounds. For now, we will just disregard the question if it is just a coincidence that this name appeared on Samsung’s worldwide download site. Quickly an announcement appeared on a Korean forum that the Samsung NX100 camera and three new NX-lenses would be introduced before or during the Photokina 2010. It seems to us to be pretty nice timing, as it would make Samsung’s presence at the Photokina more interesting than that which was the case during the Photokina 2008.

The most recent rumor that could confirm the existence of the Samsung NX100 was the recording of a commercial. During the commercial, a recording is made of an actor that has an unidentified Samsung camera in her hands.... It is supposedly the Samsung NX100. It is remarkable that this Samsung camera has a different design than the NX10/NX5 cameras. Perhaps the Samsung NX100 will be aimed at the same target group that Sony NEX and Olympus PL1 are aiming for. It is expected that we will find out more about the new Samsung NX100 system camera in the coming weeks. We will keep you updated!
