24/7 operation designed Sharp LCD screen : Sharp announced the UK availability of its new line-up of high-performance large format displays. The 60-, 52-, 47- and 42-inch Sharp LCD screens are designed for the high-volume, commercial market segments, and offer high quality 24/7 operation. Sharp demonstrated the outstanding performance of the Sharp PNE601, PN-E521, PN-E471 and PN-E421 LCD models at ISE 2010, attracting particular attention as the first LCD manufacturer to present a high-performance 60-inch monitor. These new professional Sharp displays combine premium picture quality with reduced power consumption and feature slim bezels - much lighter in weight than their predecessors.

“These innovative new professional displays signal the start of a new era for Sharp,” said Grace Liang, product manager, Sharp Electronics (UK) Ltd. “These competitive products mean that Sharp will also enjoy an excellent position in the high-volume market segment for 60-inch displays.” Efficient production of the displays at the world’s first ‘10th generation’ LCD factory, Sharp’s new state-of-the art plant in Sakai, Japan, also enables the new Sharp LCD screen series to enter the market with an attractive value for money proposition.
High performance and energy efficiency Sharp LCD screens
The Sharp PN-E601, PN-E521, PN-E471 and PN-E421 models have outstanding performance. With screen sizes from 42-inch to 60-inch and full 1920 x 1080 pixel HD resolution, the new Sharp monitors provide high-precision images in 16:9 widescreen format. All the Sharp LCD screens are designed for continuous 24-7 operation and are fan-less, meaning that they also guarantee totally silent operation. For those seeking even greater flexibility, these models have an expansion capability based on a simple modular construction principle. The highlights of the new generation include the option of an interface board with additional interfaces (I/F expansion).
Sharp LCD screen has low power consumption
Despite their premium performance, these displays have particularly low power consumption. Compared to their predecessor models, the new systems are also much lighter and are therefore easier to install. “With these features, our LCD screens are ideal for all indoor environments, from traffic control centers and other control rooms to office communication applications such as video-conferencing, all the way up the scale to digital signage solutions,” said Grace Liang.
High-efficiency manufacturing process needed for Sharp LCD screen
The 60-inch Sharp LCD displays in the new line-up are manufactured at the Sharp 10th generation factory in Sakai, Japan. With this plant, the Japanese electronics giant has become the first company in the world to produce panels from 10th generation mother glasses measuring 2.88 x 3.13 meters and to process these panels into LCDs for professional displays. Due to this high-efficiency manufacturing process, Sharp is able to bring its LCD screens to the market at an attractive price without affecting the quality. Further evidence of Sharp’s top-ranking position is that with a monthly capacity of 72,000 mother glasses, this plant is able to manufacture 432,000 of the new 60-inch Sharp LCD screens per month. |
