LG GD880 Mini review : During the recent Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, LG may have been the main Platinum sponsor, but LG itself was nowhere to be found. Unfortunately for LG and unfortunately for the visiting press, the introduction of the LG GD880 Mini handset during the MWC 2010 was a failure. There was also relatively little attention paid to the new LG smartphone. The annual TeleVision 2010 event was recently organized in Nieuwegein,in the Netherlands, where LG was also present. Among a diverse assortment of LG cell phones, there was also the new LG GD880 Mini, and it’s time to take a closer look. Mini formats seem to be becoming a new trend. Mini, but with full functionality.

LG GD880 mini review
The LG Mini smartphone has some remarkable new features that we had not seen before. An LG spokesperson pointed out a new feature: AirSync. The setup of this function is simple, but very effective. By installing the new LG PC Suite on your notebook or desktop you can synchronize all the information on the LG GD880 Mini, Air Sync and PC Suite (notebook/desktop). Everything is done via the LG (Air Sync) server. You also easily transfer or upload photos, video and music to the special LG Air Sync website. Additionally, it is possible to synchronize web-pages that were visited from a desktop or notebook with the browser on the LG GD880 Mini smartphone.
LG Mini smartphone
It is even possible to control the LG Mini smartphone from a notebook or desktop pc, via the LG PC Suite software and Bluetooth interface. As soon as a connection is made, you simply take over the phone and control it from a distance. If everyone will be happy with this, for instance, at work, is still the question. LG is studying the possibility of adapting the LG PC Suite software in order to support several phones.
LG GD880 Mini with Dolby Mobile
Another remarkable feature of the LG GD880 Mini smartphone is the 5.1 Dolby Mobile support. Dolby Mobile is designed to give consumers a new audio experience. Smartphones are being used more and more to play music, and also movies. Dolby Mobile was developed to optimize the audio experience. That includes the possibility to refine the audio to personal taste. An additional advantage is that audio and video file compressions are kept as low as possible. What remains is a good audio experience that will surprise many, as they would not have expected it to come from such a small smartphone as the LG Mini.
LG GD880 Mini interface
The LG GD880 Mini phone’s start screen runs on LG’s most well-known 3D S-Class interface. The first tab on this LG smartphone makes it immediately clear what is a very hot item: social media. You can create immediate Facebook and Twitter updates with the LG GD880 Mini without having to dive far into the menu. The second tab shows the multimedia functions and settings such as music and games and the third tab offers the possibility of personally adjusting the smartphone’s settings.

The LG Mini smartphone was a pleasant surprise. The small format is handy to use and additionally offers many surprising, innovative functions. The LG GD880 Mini cell phone reacts quickly and with immediate access to social networks, you are completely up to date in a mum of time. |
