SonySony CycleEnergy rechargeable batteries : Sony Electronics new line of CycleEnergy rechargeable batteries are now available, expanding the family to three grades that come in AA and AAA sizes to match the widest range of home electronics devices. CycleEnergy batteries can provide a more environmentally friendly alternative for consumers. Consumers dispose of more than 2 billion batteries a year, according to Environment, Health & Safety (www.ehso.com). A pre-charged Sony CycleEnergy Battery may last up to three times longer than an Alkaline battery and can be charged 1,000 times, which is equivalent to 3,000 Alkaline batteries. Four packs of AA size 1000mAh are priced at $8.99, while the 2000 and 2500mAh are both listed at $15.99.

Rechargeable batteries saves consumer money
Consumer demand for reusable power sources and reduced waste for electronic devices continues to grow, said ShaneHigby, director of consumer media at Sony Electronics. By using CycleEnergy rechargeable batteries, users can save money and help reduce unnecessary waste. The rechargeable batteries now come in three levels designated by the drain or power consumption of the device. Newest to the line is the pre-charged 1000mAh battery, best used with everyday devices such as a television remote control. In Sony s laboratory testing, this entry line lasted one and a half time longer than alkaline. It is ideal for users transitioning from alkaline to rechargeable.
