AcerAcer Liquid E quick review : Acer brought some new exciting smartphones to the Mobile World Congress 2010 in Barcelona, including the “new” Acer Liquid E. “New” because it is actually a further developed version of a smartphone that was introduced last year: the Acer Liquid cell phone. It is interesting for the owners of an Acer Liquid handset to see the possibilities that the Acer Liquid e mobile phone has due to the software applications of Android 2.1. But if Acer Liquid smartphone owners still have a bit of patience, their OS can be updated to version 2.1 in the summer of 2010, at least that is the expectation that was created during our visit to the Acer booth during the MWC 2010 in Spain.

Acer Liquid Smartphone
The most important difference between the Acer Liquid e smartphone and the previous model is Android OS 2.1. That also means that the Acer Liquid e cell phone includes mobile applications such as voice search, Google Goggles and a visually improved user interface. During our brief encounter, we also saw new parts such as five different start screens, new backgrounds, a so-called Quick contact function, and an improved version of the Android browser Google Chrome, now with HTML5 support.

Acer Liquid E features
The new Acer Liquid e smartphone has a 5 Megapixel digital camera, which seems to be this year’s standard. The Mobile phone manufacturers have for some reason retreated from the Megapixel race that was started last year. We even see new smartphone models whose resolution has diminished in comparison with the previous model! As far as we are concerned this is a fine choice, as five Megapixels is more than enough for a camera phone and will only be an advantage for the mobile photographer. The files, for that matter, are saved on a microSD flash memory card.

Acer Liquid E Android phone
The Acer Liquid E smartphone runs on a Snapdragon chip, but one that runs slower, namely 768Mhz. Acer must have a good reason for this, but we would like to see the Acer Liquid e run at full speed with a standard speed Snapdragon processor. The new Acer smartphone is comfortable to handle and seems to be made up mostly of a display. In the landscape model, this is a pleasant experience, as there is a lot of visual space and also the typing on the on-screen keypad goes smoothly.

Acer Liquid review & price information
Our short encounter with the new Acer Liquid E Smartphone was positive, but we will describe all its different facets with more detail when we have an Acer Liquid e review sample at our disposition. As soon as it arrives, a detailed Acer Liquid review will be published with a 5 Megapixel photo gallery. The Acer Liquid E Smartphone will have a suggested retail price of 455,00 Euro.
