Sony CyberShot TX5 touchscreen digital camera : Just when we thought that we had seen all the possible Cybershot cameras introduced at the Consumer Electronics Show, it appears that Sony had kept one behind. With the PMA (February 21st -23rd - Anaheim, LA) coming up, we are actually expecting another new Sony: the Sony Alpha DSLR (Sony DSLR-A750 ?). In any case, it seems that a new Sony touchscreen compact camera will be introduced, the Sony Cybershot DSC-TX5. No official camera specifications are known yet, but considering Sony’s own leaked image material, among others, we can divulge a few features. For one, the Sony Cybershot TX5 is a compact camera that is available in several different colors.

Shoot panorama photos with the Sony CyberShot DSC-TX5
We expect that the Sony DSC-TX5 will be a digital touchscreen camera that will fall under the new Cybershot TX7. As the most recent Sony Cybershot camera are all equipped with Intelligent Sweep Panorama feature, it will be possible to shoot seamless, perfectly fitting panorama images. Additionally, we expect that the Sony Cybershot DSC-TX5 digital camera will be able to record 1080i High Definition video clips.
Sony CyberShot TX5 design camera
The Sony CyberShot TX5 design camera’s compact body offers the possibility of a Carl Zeiss lens with an internal 4x optical zoom. Looking at the image material, it is difficult to estimate which focal range the 4x optical zoom has. It would be nice if the Sony TX5 is equipped with a 25mm wide-angle zoom lens, just like the DSC-TX7. The touchscreen should make the control of the camera intuitive. The newest Sony Cybershot cameras now support both Memory Stick PRO Duo and SD/SDHC flash memory cards. It would be strange if this is not the case for the Sony Cybershot TX5.
Sony DSC-TX5 camera with HDR Backlight Correction
Another possible camera function of the Sony Cybershot DSC-TX5 camera could be HDR (High Dynamic Range) Backlight Correction. This technology makes it possible to achieve neutral photos with strong backlight. The Sony Cyber-shot TX5 camera then makes two photos: with settings for a lot or little light, with which the HDR algorithms calculating an optimal result and combining them to make the best image. |
