 LG Windows Mobile 7 mobile phones : An overactive Twitterer has leaked out LG's plans for Windows Mobile 7 early. According to the tweets, LG is planning on introducing their first LG Windows Mobile 7 phones in September of this year. And it’s about time that Microsoft came out with something new. Windows Mobile OS’s marketing share of the cell phone market is disappearing like snow under the sun, and we don't think that this is really what Microsoft is aiming for. The LG Mobile 7 cell phones will possibly be named for the first time during the coming Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona. The MWC 2010 show will be held from February 15th to 18th, in the Fira Montjuïc Venue.

The Windows Mobile 7 OS has already been postponed several times, and in any case the expected introduction date was changed repeatedly for the media. There are already many rumors about diverse introductions and even during our recent visit to a global event, the CES show in Las Vegas, there was no clarity about an introduction date. That the Mobile World Congress would be a suitable location seems obvious to us, but whether Microsoft is ready to give an official introduction status to Windows Mobile, is still the question.

The tweets concerned have disappeared from the Twitter account where they came from, so it seems that the blogger was not far off the mark. We will assume that LG will indeed make an announcement about its Windows Mobile 7 strategy, but we will probably have to keep a good look out. Windows Mobile news could be upstaged by the expected Android phone news! |
