PanasonicPrototype Panasonic Lumix 100-300mm lens : In the Panasonic booth, we ran into a number of prototype Lumix lenses. These Micro Four Thirds lenses have not yet officially been launched, however, they are expected to be released mid April 2010. This means that the line of Panasonic Lumix lenses extends rapidly, through which Panasonic keeps its promise to make the Panasonic system cameras into a mature line. The first prototype Lumix lens is the Panasonic Lumix G Vario f/4.0-5.6 100-300 mm, a zoom lens with integrated Mega OIS stabilization. Also a lens with a large range, compared to 35mm, it provides a stunning 200-600 mm. Undoubtedly an eagerly awaited zoom lens.

Panasonic Lumix 14mm pancake lens
A second lens showcased as a prototype in the Panasonic booth, is a bright pancake lens with a focal length of 14 mm. Personally, I find pancake lenses the most ideal lenses to use with a Micro Four Thirds system camera. Not so much in terms of quality, but more in terms of form factor. A Panasonic Lumix GF1 camera combined with a pancake is a beautiful and compact match.

A third prototype Lumix lens is a so-called Fish-Eye lens. The Panasonic Lumix G Fish-Eye APSH f/3.5 features a focal range of 8mm, very nice indeed! We are awaiting an official release, possibly within the next Panasonic product launch.
