2010 CES report - Live from Las Vegas! - January 2010 is the month of the American electronics show, CES in Las Vegas. The 2010 International Consumer Electronics Show is an event in which many manufacturers introduce their new products, such as hardware, software and diverse services for the coming season. It is a very important show and that means for the visitors that they will walk many miles, from the Las Vegas Convention Centre to the Venetian and other locations. LetsGoDigital will be present on location and will give practically live coverage, including photos of the show floor. The CES 2010 Show is not so much focused on digital photography, but images will still play a large role.

CES 2010 report
3D will be one of the leading acts of this CES 2010. It will appear that it is not only about 3D images, but for the first time, 3D will make a real breakthrough. From all the different branches of the industry, attention is focused on 3D. 3D TV, 3D gaming, such as PlayStation3, Blu ray 3D, 3D content such as films and games, and also distribution and storage will be adapted as needed to deliver in 3D. The signs are positive that 3D will be introduced globally, so that the consumer can have a true 3D experience at home.
3D digital cameras
What this will mean for digital photography is not exactly clear yet. One of the few camera manufacturers to include their products in the 3D rage is Sony, with its Cyber-shot and Alpha DSLR cameras. We will hopefully get to hear how this will be done at the Consumer Electronics Show in Vegas. Is there a Sony Alpha 3D DSLR or Cybershot 3D coming out? Another photo manufacturer had already introduced a 3D compact camera a while ago, but Fujifilm has not been able to turn it into a success. A real breakthrough will only be possible with widespread support from the electronics industry, and the CES 2010 seems to be giving the start signal for that.

2010 CES report
Mobile communication will also play a role at the CES show. Cell phone manufacturers such as Motorola, LG, Nokia, Sony Ericsson and even Google will be present to show their new line-up for 2010. Google Android is the big hit of 2010, there is no getting around it. Almost all manufacturers are introducing mass consumption products, business smartphones, trendy phones and camera phones, each equipped with Android OS. The question is which strategy Google has for its Nexus phone, as it seems that Google is heading in the same direction as Apple...

Las Vegas Consumer Electronics Show
2010 International Consumer Electronics Show, a global event and the forerunner of what is to come. From January 7th to January 10th, the event is open to the public. We will arrive a few days early and attend the press conferences on January 6th as well. More than 140 different countries will be represented by manufacturers, importers, providers, developers, country representatives, speakers, etc. that will attend the CES 2010. 200 conferences with 300 speakers will be held during this event. In comparison with the first CES, then held in New York in 1967, with 200 exhibitors and 17,500 visitors, the present CES show will be more than fourteen times as big, in space and in numbers.

PMA show in Los Angeles & Mobile World Congress Barcelona
Next to publications on LetsGoDigital and LetsGoMobile, the news from the CES Show will also be published on the special CES site. After the Consumer Electronics Show, we will return and prepare ourselves for the PMA show in Los Angeles, and following shortly after that, the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain. In every respect, 2010 seems like a whole new start for many possibilities, which is a contrast to 2009! Enjoy the show and keep an eye on the daily publications for the latest CES 2010 news.
