GoogleGoogle Nexus One mobile phone : Slowly but surely the attention seems to be completely focused on the pair of manufacturers: Apple and Google. Apple, a relative newcomer, but immediately impressive with their iPhone, and Google, is finally going to make the rumors come to an end with the introduction of the first true Google phone. The Nexus One, that we are all expecting, should appear in the first quarter of 2010. The rumors have been making the rounds for a while, but the pieces of the puzzles did not fit together enough to make a complete picture. The continual innovation with which Google is thinking ahead, together with the already popular Android, Google’s OS, it seems that Google Nexus One will soon be a reality.

As soon as Google handed over the Nexus One to some of its employees, a marketing wave seemed to hit the cell phone market. One after the other phone specifications 'leaked' out, several photos taken with the Nexus One phone appeared in flora and flickr accounts, and everything seems to be a well-orchestrated campaign to set the stage for its introduction. If the CES 2010 in Las Vegas will be too early (7 – 10th January) for the Nexus One, is still to be seen.

According to the most recent information, two versions of the Nexus One phones will be introduced. A so-called SIM-lock free mobile phone, and one that comes with a T-Mobile contract. January 5th, 2010 is named as the introduction date. This is undoubtedly just the beginning of the Google strategy. It seems probable that support is first sought among the different providers, but it could also be that Google will quickly no longer need the providers. The potential of eliminating the services that the providers offer and also need to survive is enormous…
