OlympusOlympus reviews - FE-5020 digital compact camera : The Olympus FE-series digital compact cameras provide an alternative to the ever growing amount of camera phones for the consumer that is looking for an entry-level camera with an affordable price tag. Olympus reviews - FE-5020 camera body
The Olympus FE-5020 digital camera features a compact size and a light weight, which makes it a perfect combination to carry with you at all times. The camera resembles a chunky mobile phone. This is caused by the 5x optical zoom that needs slightly more room to fit into the housing. And that is precisely the main difference between a compact camera and a mobile phone: the lack of an optical zoom lens.

Olympus FE review

Olympus FE review - Camera operation
A simple and straightforward operation is a must for a compact camera like the Olympus FE-5020; no fuss and no need to consult a manual. In that respect, Olympus did take a good look around and applied different ways of menus and graphical symbols, thus keeping the camera as easily accessible as possible. It actually starts with the home screen, at which every effort is made to display a composition that is as clear as possible, without too much information on the monitor. Pressing the DISP button, you can also opt for no pictograms on the screen at all, or you can choose to display a grid helping you to keep horizontal lines straight in your composition.
