 Visioneer Strobe 500 color scanner plus docking station : Visioneer, a leader in intelligent document imaging solutions, announced the Visioneer Strobe 500, a new mobile duplex color scanner plus docking station developed with dual platform support for Windows and Mac operating systems. The Strobe 500 has a 20-page automatic document feeder (ADF) and scans at 15 ppm/30 ipm. When undocked, the scanner can function through USB- or wall-power as a sheetfed scanner. The front feed slot of the Visioneer color scanner accepts documents from letter / legal / A4 size to photos, receipts and plastic ID cards.

The Visioneer Strobe 500 color scanner plus docking station will be available for purchase on November 20 through online channel partners and major resellers for $399.99. “When your office is not contained within four walls and can be anywhere you are, you need a scanner with flexibility,” said John Capurso, vice president of marketing at Visioneer. “The Visioneer color scanner is well-equipped for use in a wide range of business applications, possessing strong qualities of both mobile and desktop scanners. Powered by Visioneer OneTouch technology, the new color scanner allows users to scan to the “destination” of their choice by pressing a single button, eliminating multiple steps usually required to save scanned documents in popular file formats. Visioneer OneTouch allows you to scan documents to your choice of 6 preset yet completely user configurable destinations. This enables your documents to be scanned with the correct settings for resolution, color, cropping, file format and then delivered to virtually any application, folder or mobile device - all at the touch of a button.
Color scanner software
Bundled software includes Nuance PaperPort, OmniPage Pro, NewSoft Presto! BizCard, an enhanced TWAIN and WIA driver and Visioneer OneTouch with Kofax VRSTM technology. The Visioneer Strobe 500 color scanner plus docking station also supports Mac users with ExactScan, developed by ExactCODE GmbH, a driver and capture application that integrates with the OneTouch scanning buttons, plus NewSoft Presto! PageManager, a desktop document management tool.

Priced at $399.99 US List price the Visioneer Strobe 500 color scanner comes complete with the ADF-equipped Docking Station. The Strobe color scanner is also available without the docking station for $349.99, and the docking station alone is available at $99.99. All configurations will be available on November 20, 2009 through online channel partners and major resellers. Configured as a dual platform product, the Strobe 500 color scanner bundled software and drivers support Windows 7, Vista, and XP, as well as Mac OS X 10.4 and above including Snow Leopard. |
