Ricoh GXR system camera : Okay…Take a Ricoh GR digital camera, make some components with it, sleep on it for a night and come up with a brilliant idea. That is how the new Ricoh GXR can be seen. Leaked information now indeed confirms the existence of a Ricoh system camera. The Ricoh GXR appears to be a standard compact camera in terms of dimensions, but the GXR is truly a system camera. For the first time, Ricoh experiences the best that the world's most compact system has to offer, even smaller than Olympus and Panasonic’s current Micro Four Thirds system cameras. Once again, Ricoh has distinguished itself from the masses and in the case of the Ricoh GXR, due attention will be paid!

Ricoh GXR most compact system camera
The Ricoh GXR is a system camera, so you can use removable lenses. However…it is not only about changing lenses, but you can also change the image sensor! It's a unique system, and the idea behind it is probably just as simple as the Ricoh GXR system looks. The sensor and the lens are closed components of the camera or rather the GX system. That leaves no room for dust or other debris to attach itself to the image sensor.

The information that was leaked talks about the availability of two so-called lens/sensor parts next to the Ricoh GXR body. The body has an LCD display on the back, and electronics with which the camera can be operated. The first kit lens, the combo of a lens and a sensor, includes a 24-72 mm f/2.5-4.4 VC lens and a 10 Megapixel sensor. This combo makes it possible for the Ricoh GXR to achieve a speed of 5 fps in RAW format. A second feature is that the Ricoh S10 24-72 VC lens only shoots in VGA video quality.

The second lens is a Ricoh GR A12 50mm f/2.5 macro with a 12.3 Megapixels CMOS image sensor. This lens also allows for shooting video clips in High Definition quality. Although the information is not official yet, we can assume that the Ricoh GXR will indeed be introduced in this form and with these details.

Ricoh GXR price

Ricoh will actually take the whole GX system a step further. Can we think about printers and projectors in combination with the Ricoh GX system? How exactly it will work is not completely clear yet, but we will give an update on that as soon as possible. We can assume that the Ricoh GXR will be available this year, in time for the holidays. Quite a stunt from Ricoh, which will undoubtedly be the cause for quite some talk for a long while!
