PentaxPentax K7 review : The DSLR market is dominated by Nikon and Canon and they certainly keep an eye on each other. However, this is something that often proves to have a somewhat negative influence on the creativity of the manufacturers, as it generally means they lose a little bit of their daring. Fortunately however, there are also smaller brands such as Pentax. These smaller brands do not need to worry about whether or not they are number one. They just make cameras the way they think they should be. A little cocky at times, but that is only healthy. The Pentax K-7 is one of these cameras.

Pentax review - K7 camera housing
Although the Pentax K-7 is not very large, the camera is still larger than you’d think upon first glance. In case you use a Pentax pancake lens, you will however still have a very compact-looking set. A set that lies well in your hand, thanks to the proper handgrip. You can also opt to attach an additional battery holder underneath the Pentax K7, so that you also have a good grip when taking pictures in portrait mode.

Pentax K7 review - Shooting with a DSLR camera
Shooting with the Pentax K7 DSLR camera is a pleasure. Not all buttons were in the perfect spot for me, however, this depends very much on the photographer. Most of the memories I have of this camera, are pleasant ones, also since you can program a large amount of buttons yourself. The advantage of this option is sometimes underestimated. By applying functions to buttons yourself, you can set the camera entirely to your own preferences. So during shooting, you only have to focus on the composition, since your fingers will automatically go to the right button to change a setting.

Pentax reviews - K7 for the demanding amateur photographer
Naturally, the K7 features TAv and Sv exposure modes, which are typical of Pentax. New is the HDR option. Also, the dynamic range can be expanded to make a nice, detailed picture. The Pentax K-7 truly is an enhanced DSLR, which is not only interesting for the demanding amateur photographer, but also for the professional; for whom the K7 would be a good investment. How well the Pentax K-7 actually works in practice, we experienced during a long-lasting test. The following Pentax K7 review reveals our findings.
