Nikon Coolpix P90 review : The Nikon P90 is one of the latest mega-zoom cameras from the Coolpix stable. On one hand, the mega-zoom camera finds itself under pressure, mainly due to the appearance of the entry-level digital SLR camera. On the other hand however, this type of camera still has the advantage of a compact size and light weight, combined with a large optical zoom range like the Nikon Coolpix P90 with its 24x zoom. The P90 is the successor to the Coolpix P80 and challenges the megazoom as well as the DSLR cameras, including Nikon's own line of digital SLR cameras.• Read our full Nikon P90 review.

Nikon P90 review : Megazoom digital camera
In terms of dimension, the Nikon Coolpix P90 has an average size, at least for a megazoom camera. Its size is slightly more compact than that of its nearest competitor, but still somewhat wider than others. The 490 grams of weight mean the Nikon P90 isn’t exactly a light-weight, especially when compared to the small entry-level DSLR cameras and their light kit lenses. However, the weight does provide a nice and firm hand-fit, which is something we are often disappointed in when it comes to the very light megazoom cameras. The grip of the Coolpix P90 features a rubber coating which adds to the hand-fit.
Nikon P90 review - Camera operation
Despite the advanced features of the Nikon Coolpix P90, the learning curve is low. You do not need an extensive study; just briefly checking the manual to find out about the new innovative image solutions will do. You can of course start by setting the camera in the auto mode, but that doesn't compliment the P90. A megazoom camera like this just asks to be creative.
Nikon Coolpix P90 review including a DIWA Labs test
We had the Nikon Coolpix P90 in our office for a considerable amount of time. In addition, the Nikon P90 was extensively technically tested in the DIWA Lab. The combination of testing in practice and the technical lab tests enables us to provide a balanced final verdict. Our findings can be read in the following Nikon P90 review.
