GarminGarmin Nuvi review at LetsGoMobile : GPS handheld devices provide the rambler with a lot of useful information. Also in the field of geo-caching, a number of interesting developments have taken place over the last few years. One of the applications of such devices is auto navigation. When I was asked to review the Garmin Nuvi 1240, one of the easiest car navigation models available, I expected to be done fairly quickly. However, this seemingly simple navigation system proves to have a lot more to offer, in order to make traveling to unknown destinations a lot easier.

Garmin Nuvi reviews - 1240 test drive
LetsGoMobile says: "It is quite common to equip car navigation systems with a touchscreen monitor, and the Garmin Nuvi 1240 is no different. This monitor serves well in most areas. There is little pressure needed to activate the applications. However, I do have some remarks. As I wrote earlier, the keyboard buttons are rather small, although that might also be a matter of getting used to. The main trouble I encountered was when I tried to drag a map across the screen with a sliding movement of my finger. Sometimes, it seemed as if the map was attached to an elastic strap, shooting back to its old spot time and again. And on other occasions, a Go-to point was created unintentionally, which is really hard to undo. Garmin could really do better than that."

Garmin Nuvi review - Entering the destination address
LetsGoMobile continues: "The proper argument to purchase a car navigation device is the support it offers in finding a route to a destination you have selected yourself. We usually do this by inserting an address and then letting the navigator voice guide us to our destination. The Garmin Nüvi 1240 also supports us in finding the address. If we insert the first letters of the destination, it may just be a rare name and thus pop up before we have even inserted the entire name. This may also prove very helpful if we have doubts about the correct spelling. All we have to do is insert the first letter and press the Done button. Next, a list with possibilities appears, and all we have to do is select the correct one."

Garmin Nuvi review
This time not an enhanced GPS device, but the Garmin Nuvi 1240, a compact car navigation system. The Nuvi 1240 has some nice extras to offer. For example, if you want to practice 'The New Driving', you can select: 'Challenge economical driving'. On the basis of speed, acceleration and braking, a score is determined that shows just how responsible your driving is. All the possibilities of this navigation device will be revealed in the full Garmin Nuvi review at LetsGoMobile.
