HD video recording seems to be the absolute minimum for a camera these days so it is not a surprise to learn that the Samsung WB5000 supports High Definition movie recording. According to the UK Samsung site ‘you will get the most out of your videos, with cutting-edge HD technology. You can record movies in 720p to get fantastic HD detail and view them on your HD TV.’ The Samsung WB5000 supports full manual controls. You will get more creative and make use of the ability to shoot using aperture priority, shutter priority or manual. Samsung’s smart mode uses extremely clever technology to assess the type of photo you are taking and then optimize the Samsung WB5000 camera automatically to ensure the best results possible are achieved. All this in less than the blink of an eye.

Shooting portraits is as easy as it gets for everyone; each time you click, the Samsung WB5000 automatically recognizes if there is a face in the shot. It then optimizes the focus and exposure of up to nine faces for stunning, natural looking portraits. The Blink Detection function detects when a subjects eyes are closed; this feature triggers the camera to automatically take three shots in order to capture the eyes open. Smile Detection ensures that no happy moments are missed by taking the shot automatically when smiles are detected. The Beauty Shot function uses face detection technology to retouch the facial skin to appear brighter and to give the impression of a smoother skin tone. This can be done either while shooting or during playback.

If a problem is encountered during shooting, troubleshooting instructions (Photo Help guide) are provided so that image correction can be easily performed by anybody. Step-by-step instructions with simple illustration on the use of the camera are provided through the LCD for user's convenience. Frame Guide allows you to set up a shot you want to be in. Set the right distance and angle, give your camera to someone else, get in shot and they can take the picture you want with help from the frame around the edge of the screen. As soon as we receive a Samsung WB5000 test sample, we will publish a photo gallery with high resolution pictures, followed by an in-depth Samsung WB5000 review.
