PanasonicNew Panasonic LUMIX digital cameras announced : During a press event in Lisbon, Panasonic announced its expansion of the LUMIX digital compact camera series with a number of new compact cameras. In addition, Panasonic was proud to say that last year's target (becoming number 1 in compact camera sales in Europe) has been reached, thus enhancing the brand's market share compared to its competitors. The new Panasonic LUMIX cameras will become available (online) to the consumer in September. Sales prices have not yet been revealed. The new models mainly have improved features; we did not come across genuine innovations. This introduction will provide a suitable Panasonic camera for both the amateur and the enhanced photographer alike.

Within the Panasonic LUMIX camera assortment, there is also room for the Megazoom. There are no actual entry-level system cameras just yet, so a Megazoom camera does not get in the way when it comes to price. The new Panasonic LUMIX DMC-FZ38 is a logical successor to the FZ28. We were expecting more than the 18x optical zoom, although it was not really necessary. It's the HD Movie function that we consider a remarkable specification. And additionally the improved stabilizer too, which goes by the name of Power O.I.S.

All the necessary settings, auto as well as manual, are found on the new Panasonic FZ38. The FZ series enjoys an excellent reputation by now and seems to be right back in the lead with the introduction of the DMC-FZ38. The expected availability date of the Panasonic LUMIX DMC-FZ38 will be September. As soon as a test sample of the camera becomes available, we will publish a Panasonic LUMIX FZ38 review.

Panasonic DMC-ZX1 LUMIX camera

Panasonic DMC-ZX1 LUMIX camera
At first, we thought of a mini-Traveler Zoom, a smaller version of the TZ6/TZ7 LUMIX cameras. However, this is not the case; the new Panasonic LUMIX ZX1 looks more like a model from the compact FX series. The Panasonic ZX1 features an ultra-compact zoom lens with an 8x zoom range. In addition, the lens starts at a beautiful 25mm wide angle, providing an all-round range for the ZX1. With the support of an improved optical image stabilizer, Power O.I.S., shooting with the Panasonic DMC-ZX1 is both pleasant and carefree. The perfect camera to take with you in your trouser pocket or handbag and capture every moment.

Panasonic LUMIX camera features
The Panasonic LUMIX ZX1 features a fast VENUS Engine V image processor, ensuring rapid image processing. Combined with a high-speed start-up of only approx. 1.1 second, this gives the ZX1 a fast response that helps to seize even the most fleeting of photo opportunities. The intelligent Auto mode and advanced scenes provide the ultimate ease of operation for everybody. The Panasonic LUMIX DMC-ZX will be available in September 2009. As soon as a test sample of the camera becomes available, we will publish a Panasonic LUMIX ZX1 review.

Panasonic DMC-FP8 LUMIX camera
A new series is born with the introduction of the Panasonic LUMIX DMC-FP8 compact digital camera. A series that emphasizes on two features; design and quality. The Panasonic FP8 features a compact design and includes an internal 4.6x LEICA DC zoom lens with 28mm wide angle. Thanks to the internal zoom lens, the start-up time of the Panasonic FP8 is ultra-short. The new LUMIX camera needs only 0.95 second to get ready to shoot.

Panasonic camera features
As always, the Panasonic DMC-FP8 is also equipped with a stabilization system. Naturally, it has been improved in order to prevent blur from handshake. The shutter lag is negligible, since it is only 0.006 second, and the frame speed of 2.3 fps at 12 Megapixel resolution will help catch even the most elusive photo opportunities. The Panasonic LUMIX DMC-FP8 comes in various colors. The Panasonic LUMIX DMC-FP8 will be available in September of this year. As soon as a test sample of this camera becomes available, we will publish a Panasonic LUMIX FP8 review.

Panasonic DMC-FX60 LUMIX camera
Panasonic has added a new member to the compact FX series LUMIX cameras. The new Panasonic LUMIX DMC-FX60 is a 12.1 Megapixel camera with a 5x optical wide angle zoom. The 25mm wide angle lens is ideal for landscape and indoor pictures, while its compact size and light weight make the FX60 the ideal camera to carry along at all times. Just like every other new LUMIX camera, the Panasonic DMC-FX60 is equipped with the fast VENUS Engine V image processor ensuring both speed and quality.

Creative photography with the new LUMIX cameras
The intelligent auto programs and enhanced Power O.I.S. image stabilizer make digital photography a lot easier. The camera's intelligent software allows the photographer to concentrate on the subject instead of the camera settings, resulting in high quality pictures. Just like the introduction mentioned earlier, the Panasonic FX60 features various tools for more creative photography. For example; the so-called High Dynamic mode to ensure the photographer can take a picture without high contrasts of dark and light areas in the picture influencing the result in a negative way. The Panasonic LUMIX DMC-FX60 will become available in September. As soon as a test sample of this camera becomes available, we will publish a Panasonic FX60 review.
