 Ricoh camera review : CX1 photo gallery : Ricoh enjoys a well-known reputation as an innovative camera manufacturer. And although Ricoh is a small player in the field of compact cameras where heavyweights like Canon, Panasonic and Sony seem to rule, Ricoh still manages to keep its brand in the limelight by introducing inventive image solutions time and time again. This also goes for the Ricoh CX1, a digital camera with a 7.1x wide angle zoom lens (28-200mm) and an incredibly large dynamic range of 12 EV. Additionally, the Ricoh CX1 features a fast CMOS sensor, and the camera is supported by a new Smooth Imagine Engine IV image processor. The Ricoh camera has a number of remarkable functions to offer the creative photographer.

In addition to the expanded dynamic range, the Ricoh CX1 also features a new way of focusing. The Multi-Target AF shoots consecutive images at seven focal distances, automatically defined by the camera. This function enhances the chance of an optimally focused picture. And if you have to shoot an object at which speed plays a role, you will be able to shoot 4 fps in continuous mode with the Ricoh CX1 camera.

Not only does the Ricoh CX1 camera focus on innovative technology, it also looks after users ease. The large, high-resolution LCD monitor has a wide viewing angle and high contrast. The screen comes with a fluorine coat to prevent soiling, a hard coat to prevent scratches, and an anti-reflection coat to give greater visibility even outdoors in bright sunshine. The optimum fonts are used for high visibility on the VGA monitor, and greater camera operability is achieved with an enhanced setting-screen design easily readable at a glance. They may be small details, but they do enhance the joy in life of an amateur photographer.
